Clans of werewolves calling themselves the Children of the Moon are wanderers travelling the countryside. Their colorful wagons and bright clothes are a sharp contrast to their reservedness around strangers. Once familiar with an individual they are friendly and generous (such as they can be). There is significant lore around their lycanthropy and very few individuals outside of the family are privy to. Each family of the Children of the Moon has a family name though a single group comprises several actual families of various relations.

The family that is usually nearest the Capital would be the Hillscourge. They consider the Daemon’s Grin Group as close as family. Members of this group include:

  • Warren Zevon – Pack leader (elder)
  • Daciana – Wife of Warren
  • Rollin – Blind elder councilor
  • Garrou –
  • Desiree –
  • Romulus – Brother of Remus
  • Remus – Brother of Romulus
  • Ylfa – potion maker
  • Ulva
  • Tala – Red Wolf
  • Lyall – Young rogue. Looks like an 80’s glam rocker.
  • Bardulf – Trader
  • Hrolf (biter)
  • Otsana (sniffer)

Burrowing up from the stone in the mountains far to the East of Everward came the Shields of Hewer, a kinship of several clans. The reason for their arrival was stated to His Majesty King Benjaman Monroe as “To determine what should be done about the dangerous technology discovered in the hands of humans”. Meaning specifically the gun technology developed by Sath of the Daemon’s Grin Group and later stolen by the Burgundian Empire.

King Monroe, not fully appraised of the strength of the Shields of Hewer decided to welcome the Dwarves as neighbors and at least take advantage of the new trade that would open upon their arrival. The King however, is not pleased at the loss of land even if it was at the far, unoccupied end of the kingdom.

The new Dwarven settlement is Pint Rest, an enclave in the mountain range between Cliffwind and Briar Glen. It is closer to Cliffwind and South of the fissure.

Known members of the Shields of Hewer:

  • Kilgore Trout – chief of the ironbeard clan
  • Cornwall Forefinger – emissary to Everward
  • Tharrac Flintfall – bannerman of ironbead clan
  • Doramarec Opalsunder – Thane of Chief Trout
  • Dergumlin Shadowheart
  • Jorrac Axestone
  • Astreth Beastview

Lizard folk have not been seen near Everward for nearly one hundred years. The reason for that is that the witch Baba Yaga had decided to claim the territory where the Lizard folk lived. She raised a swamp which claimed Z’tharr’ak, a city of Lizard folk and reduced them to thrall. A curse spread from those Lizard folk to all of the folk for hundreds of leagues around until there was no trace them to be found.

The Shadowy Swamp West of the Windswept woods is the current home of the Lizard folk. Until recently they had been held captive by Baba Yaga after she moved into the Shadowy Swamp. They were split into small groups and use as fodder for her various pets and have lived in captivity for so long that much of their lore is gone. Now they are reclaiming Z’tharr’ak, the buried city that was their home generations ago. Despite dire conditions, some of their culture has survived and positions important to the Lizard Folk have been reclaimed by those who are capable.

The hardy individuals who are rebuilding Z’tharr’ak:

  • Occothi – Chief
  • Jotzui – Druid
  • Gorlask – Warrior/leader
  • Otlaccu – Envoy to Everward
